The Member of Parliament for Bekwai in the Ashanti Region and 1st Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Joseph Osei-Owusu has presented a cheque of GHc 160,000 to the Bekwai Municipal Health Directorate in his Constituency.
The cheque was accompanied with Hospital equipments worth GHc 195,000 comprising Delivery beds, Hospital beds and mattress, “Angelica” containers to store water etc.
Delivering the cheque and equipments to the Directorate, Hon. Joe Wise as affectionately called explained the monies are from his share of the Health Fund and he has committed himself to satisfying the health needs of his Constituency.
In 2016 he gave the Director of Health Services in Bekwai GHc 205,000 which they used Ghc 195,000 to purchase the Hospital equipments and GHc 10,000 to renovate the washroom of Kokofu Nursing Training School also in the Constituency. The cheque of GHc 160,000 is for 2017.
Receiving the cheque and equipments on behalf of the Directorate, Mr. Cletus Opoku Amankwaa who is the Health Director thanked Hon. Joe Wise and promised to put the received equipments and money to good use.
He explained he met all the Health facilities within jurisdiction and they all presented their needs which aided them in buying the equipments. They also agreed on how to use the money presented to them.
