Minority brands Ofori-Atta ‘Minister of Loans’

The Minister of Finance, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta was greeted with cheers of “Loan Stars” and “Minister for Loans” by the Minority in Parliament when he arrived in the Chamber of Parliament Thursday morning to present the mid-year budget review.

Graphic Online’s Kweku Zurek reported from the Chamber of Parliament that, shortly after the Speaker invited Mr Ofori-Atta to read the budget, members of the Minority side started jeering him.

Ken-Ofori-Atta presented the mid-year budget review Thursday on the floor of parliament, detailing the delivery or rather, non-delivery of their promises to the citizenry.

He among other things touched on the implementation of key government policies including the Free SHS initiative which he says has decreased significantly, the burden of Ghanaian parents.

He among other things announced the introduction of a new levy on vehicles with engine capacities of 3.0 litres and above and the high net worth income tax.
