A Former Ambassador to the United States of America under the erstwhile NDC Administration and Campaign Manager for Former President John Mahama Ambassador Daniel Ohene Agyekum has charged on the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to focus on fulfilling it’s promise to transform the country and leave Mr Mahama alone to enjoy his peace.
Speaking in an interview with Agya Wusu Ansah on OTEC FM’s afternoon political talk show ‘DWABIREM’, Mr Ohene Agyekum stated that the NPP have constantly been pointing fingers at the former President in any issue that pops up in the governance which clearly exhibits they have lost control to him.
According to the former COCOBOD chairman, the Nana Addo led government on any day while explaining issues confronting the country try to shift attention by putting the blame on the past NDC administration.
‘’I see no reason why NPP always link John Mahama to problems they encounter. They promised to make Ghana heaven like and that should be their focus and not to be lambasting Mahama’’, he emphasized.
On the return of former President Mahama to contest as a flagbearer for the NDC ahead of the 2020 elections, Ohene Agyekum stated that the NDC had no better candidate apart from Mr Mahama.
He explains the name Mahama still runs in the mind of Ghanaians and will be bad if he is not brought back. He says many Ghanaians have regretted after voting for the NPP and are calling for the comeback of John Mahama.
He believes most people voted for NPP due to their empty promises and are now facing he’ll under President Nana Akufo Addo.
