Residents of Ahenema-Kokoben near Santase in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of Ashanti region were thrown into a state of shock in the early hours of Tuesday, May 14, 2019, following the discovering of a dead woman in the vicinity.
The woman, believed to be in her 40’s, was found with bruises on the body and a swollen face, an indication that she was beaten to pulp by his assailants.
According to a resident, Alvin Owusu, who spoke on Otec FM’s ‘Nyansapo’ morning show on Tuesday, hosted by Captain Koda, the woman is not known in the community and a handbag and a mobile phone were found beside her at the scene.
“The woman is not known in our community here, not a single person has been able to identify her. It is believed that she was killed somewhere and dumped here. It might also mean the victim visited a close friend or a relative in the vicinity only to meet her untimely death,” Mr. Alvin added.
“The community is already having challenges with our poor road networks, contemplating on how to fix them and we least expected this,” he bemoaned.
Personnel of the Ghana Police Service have since deposited the body at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and investigation has started.
