Party reorganisation not about talk but resources – Duffour to NDC leadership

Dr Duffour uveiling the items at Ashaiman Constituency

Former Finance Minister Kwabena Duffour has challenged the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stop talking and start committing resources to the reorganisation drive of the party to capture power in the 2024 general elections.

He said party reorganisation is not about talking but about committing resources to drive activities.

The former Governor of the Bank of Ghana said this at the launch of his “Ahotor project” where he presented 100 plastic chairs, four canopies, a Public Address System (PA) to the party’s leadership of the Ashaiman Constituency to be rented to members of the public to generate some revenue to energise the branch base of the party.

The event took place on Thursday, April 7, 2022.

The project is expected to be replicated in the remaining 274 constituencies across the country.

In the first phase of the project, 40 items will be presented to the Constituency Chairmen of the party.

The launch on Thursday was attended by party stalwarts such as former Minister of Trade and Industry Ekow Spio-Garbrah; former Minister of Information and former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency Fritz Baffour; a founding member of the NDC, Mr Kofi Aikins, and Mr Antwi Boasiako Sekyere, a former Eastern Regional Minister.

The others include Mr Winfield Akuako, a failed parliamentary aspirant for the Klottey Korley Constituency and Dome-Kwabenya Constituency Chairman Lamptey among others.

Dr Duffour said: “We’re changing the face of the NDC by empowering the branch executives of the party”.

He noted that the Ahotor project is targeted at providing sustainable revenue to the party at the branch level.
