Computer Placement: Let students select schools after releasing BECE results – NPP Secretary to GES, MoE

The Atwima Nwabiagya North Constituency Secretary for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Raphael Osei-OWusu has urged the Ghana Education Service and Ministry of Education to make amendment with the process of School selection by BECE candidates.
According to him, the decision will give both parents and the wards a fair idea and confidence to select schools and courses based the results.
Speaking on OTEC FM’S afternoon political talk-show dubbed Dwabrem in reaction to the release of Senior High School placement for last year’s BECE candidates, the Ashanti Regional NPP communications team secretary stated that most student and guardians do select school relying on hopes which many get disappointed in the end.
There have been several complaints and controversies surrounding the Computerised School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) over the years and this year have been no exception.
Passing his comment on the issue, Mr. Osei-OWusu told host of Dwabrem Prince Nii Ade (Dr Cash) that suggestion will boost students and guardians’ confidence in selection schools when they have seen the results.
“Cash, if we allow students select schools after results are released, trust me there won’t be much complaints as we’ve been experiencing”.
“If a parent see results of his child, it will give them a fair idea of the school and course to choose”
