The Management of Afia Kobi Ampem Girls Senior High School at Trabuom in the Ashanti Region have honored the Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah, for his enormous contributions to Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics STEM Education in Ghana
The the management lead by the school’s Headmistress, Silvia Newton on Thursday February 1,2024 presented a citation to the Deputy Finance Minister on the school’s campus
Madam Silvia Newton during the presentation said the gesture was in recognition of his distinguished service to Senior High Schools in the country particularly Afia Kobi Ampem Girls Senior High school.
Donation of Computers
Following a request by the school, Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah has again donated about 50 computers and a projector to the school
The computers will help the engineering Club of the school to get access to internet and aid in their research projects.
Response from the MP
Mr Eric Osei Akoto, an Aid to the Deputy Finance Minister, who received the citation after he presented the computers to the school on behalf of the Member of Parliament.
He noted that, the minister has consistently shown commitment to support creative and innovative students even to those outside his constituency
He added that, the deputy finance minister after spotting a story of Afia Kobi Ampem Girls SHS students building and flying an aeroplane on OTEC 102.9 fms Facebook page decided to help the students do more projects, hence the donation of computers and money to them.
He praised Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah of his exceptional leadership qualities and his role in ensuring that STEM students at the SHS level are well motivated to come out with more creative projects.
