Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso: A Champion of Peace and God’s Word in Ghana

With a distinguished academic background and a wealth of experience in church leadership, Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso has become a respected figure in Ghanaian society.
Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso is a well-respected global leader with over forty (40) years in Christian ministry and executive leadership. He is a Senior Reverend Minister, an Author and a Motivational Speaker.
He was the President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, the largest Christian body in Ghana, the past Chairman of the Ghana Evangelism Committee and until recently (August 2022) was the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana.

I can recall that in 1987, we came to Easter convention at Bantama L/A, I was just young boy from my village near my hometown Aduman my first Easter convention really, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso was at Old Tafo Branch who delivered a sermon on penulmate night of the program under the theme’’ Jesus Saves. That Massage really changed my life entirely and I’m still leaving on that powerful speech. Thank you very much Prof, for changing the life of many including myself. He became role model, spiritual leader .
But Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso is yet to see me in person though.
Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso’s impact on Ghanaian society is multifaceted. Through his leadership and ministry, he has promoted peace, unity, and spiritual growth in the country. So I was not surprise when I heard that he has elected to lead our great Church, Assemblies of God and Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic (GPCC), the positions he led with greatest distinction.
Academic Background
Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong–Manso was born on 15th March, 1959. He had his secondary school education at the Osei Tutu Senior High School, where he obtained his GCE ordinary level certificate in 1980.
Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso holds two diplomas in Theology from Mattersey Hall and University of Cambridge, both in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Master of Arts degree from the University of Sheffield, U.K, a certificate in Advanced Leadership Training from Hawaii, and a PhD degree in Theology from the University of Wales, U.K. In 2017, he was appointed as Professor of Ministry by the Global University (USA), a testament to his academic excellence and commitment to theological education.
Church Leadership
Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso the immediate former General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, a position he held with distinction.
During his tenure, the Church vigorously pursued massive Transformation Agenda to reposition it to be leading Pentecostal movement in Ghana.
Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso , one of his strengths is his ability to handle difficult issues with absolute cordiality. I was at Calvary temple Assemblies Church in Bantama one Sunday, during his pastoral time at that branch. In his sermon, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso said, ‘’Christian leaders to succeed in their leadership, they must endeavour to include everyone no matter how difficult they may appear to be. “It does not matter how intellectually smart or genius the leader may be, you cannot succeed as you are. We all need people to win,”
He has served on several Boards and Church Councils, comprising Banking Institutions, Insurance Companies, and Churches. His leadership skills and expertise have been invaluable to the growth and development of the church in Ghana.
Promoting Peace and National Development
Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso is a champion of peace and national development. He currently serves as Chairman of the Small Arms and Light Weapons Commission of the Republic of Ghana, a position that requires him to work towards promoting peace and security in the country.
He was also a member of the National Executive Council of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic (GPCC), and was the Assistant Secretary to the African Assemblies of God Alliance (AAGA), a continental body of the Assemblies of God in Africa.
National Cathedral Board of Trustees
Rev. Prof. Frimpong-Manso is a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral, Ghana, a project aimed at promoting national unity and spiritual growth. His involvement in this project is a testament to his commitment to the spiritual well-being of the nation.
