Hon Pomaa presenting the tablets to Nana Ansah I of Boamadumase for onward distribution to the Basic School
Hon Ama Pomaa Boateng, Member of Parliament (MP) for Juaben Constituency has presented 100 computer tablets to the Asumenya Benevolent Islamic and the Boamadumase Basic Schools in the Juaben Municipality.
The female legislator also presented special laptops to ICT instructors in the two schools.
Presenting the items at separate ceremonies in the two communities, Hon Pomaa Boateng said the current trend in education requires that students are provided with information, communication and technology (ICT) tools for their studies.
“These ICT tools facilitate teaching and learning in the modern way and these tablets contain the courses and subjects to be learnt in school so that even when teachers are absent the students can learn on their own”, Hon Boateng explained.
Vision:
Hon Pomaa Boateng said for 12 years the vision she had carried was to see every school going child in the Municipality get access to ICT tools to study at school.
She noted that the only equaliser that students in Ghana and others elsewhere in developed the world can have is to be equipped with ICT skills and knowledge.
Campaign:
Taking her time to explain the importance of education, Hon Pomaa Boateng said the current initiatives in the educational system is to ensure that students are shaped to become the best in the world.
These initiatives, she noted could only be sustained and protected by the NPP government that introduced same.
“I am appealing to you, teachers, staff and parents to vote for Dr Bawumia on December 7 so that the NPP government can continue to implement these far reaching interventions in the educational sector”, the Juaben MP stated.
Presentations:
Hon Pomaa Boateng presented 50 tablets each to the Benevolent Islamic Basic and Boamadumase Basic Schools.
ICT tutors at both schools also received laptops and accessories to enable them teach their courses.
The female MP also provided three sets of jerseys to each of the schools including a cash donation of GhC 10, 000.00 to enable Boamadumase Basic School complete its ICT lab.
Hon Pomaa presented a brand new motorbike and helmet to enable the Youth Wing of Asumenya branch of the NPP to carry out their campaigns.
Appreciation:
Madam Phyllis Boateng, Juaben Municipal Director of Education commended the Juaben MP for consistently investing in the education of students in the Municipality.
These investments in ICT tools, the Director noted was shaping teaching and learning in schools in the communities in Juaben Municipality.
Chief:
The Regent of Boamadumase thanked Hon Pomaa for the gesture to schools in the Juaben Municipality.
He noted that the investments the MP was making in the education of students in the constituency would yield tremendous dividends.
“It is undeniable that humans are the best architects of all transformation and i am sure that these investments by Hon Pomaa in the education of students would soon lead to the total transformation of communities in Juaben Municipality”, Nana Ansah I stated.
