Speaking at a press conference, the Ashanti Regional Health Director, Dr. Adomako Boateng emphasized the importance of the initiative in preventing the disease among vulnerable children.

The campaign is set to run from November 21 to November 24, 2024, with an ambitious goal to vaccinate 1,420,360 children.

Addressing the media Dr Boateng said Health teams will reach children through house-to-house visits, schools, and other key locations to ensure widespread coverage.

Dr. Boateng called on traditional leaders, churches, and Imams to cooperate and support the campaign by allowing access to their communities.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to ensure their children under five receive the vaccine, as part of efforts to eradicate polio in the region.
