You’re selfish and ungrateful- former members of Movement for Change to Alan

Former members of Allan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change have expressed their displeasure with their former leader’s recent attacks on former President John Agyekum Kuffuor.

This response was prompted by Kyerematen’s negative remarks following Kuffuor’s endorsement of NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia, for the upcoming elections.

During the a press conference, the former members highlighted Kyerematen’s ingratitude towards Kuffuor, who they credited for his rise in Ghanaian politics.

“Members of the media, it is instructive to note that, the sudden rise of Mr Kyerematen in the Ghanaian political circles, hinged on President Kuffuor’s magnanimity and that it is an act of ingratitude for Alan to go that tangent,” portions of the statement stated.

“In our upbringing, we have grown to understand that gratitude is part of our culture. Again, Mr Kyerematen should know that ‘we dont bite the hands that feed us,” the statement further noted.

They accused Kyerematen of displaying ungratefulness, selfishness, and greed in his response to Kuffuor’s endorsement of Dr. Bawumia.

The former members noted the importance of gratitude in Ghanaian culture and warned Kyerematen to be cautious in his actions to avoid angering the people of Asanteman.

They also questioned the timing of Kyerematen’s attacks on Kuffuor, suggesting a possible alliance with the NDC based on recent events.

The former members urged Kyerematen to focus on rebuilding his reputation and refrain from engaging in unnecessary attacks and character assassination.

They stated their commitment to protecting their beliefs and standing up against any attempts to intimidate or silence them.

PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY FORMER MEMBERS OF ALLAN KWADWO KYEREMATEN, ON THE SPILLS OF ALAN’S RECENT INTERVIEW ON KUFUOR.

Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen of the media. We are indeed, grateful for honouring our invitation, despite the very short notice.

We have called you here, to register our uttermost displeasure at our former leader, Alan Kyerematen, over his recent attempts to denigrate the integrity of our revered former President John Agyekum Kuffuor.

In his recent interview with a Kumasi-base Oyerepa TV, it was sad to note that Alan Kyerematen took every available opportunity, not to tout his little contribution and visions for the country.

Rather, he resorted to visibly exhibit pain and discomfort, because, Mr Kufour, in his wisdom, refused to endorse him (Alan) going into the December 7th elections.

It could be recalled that Former President Kuffuor, last Sunday, November 17, gave a tacit endorsement of NPP’s flagbearer, urging Ghanaians to rally behind Dr. Bawumia in the December polls.

In his own words during an interview with selected journalists, the former president stated and I quote” “Given the current global circumstances, I firmly believe that Ghana’s economy will experience significant improvement if Bawumia is elected as President. With divine guidance, he is capable of delivering on this promise, and I encourage you to support his candidacy.”

This open show of statesmanship exhibited by our dear former President and also a founding member of our dear party seems to have angered Mr Kyerematen, who is livid to the extent that, he has started resorting to personal attacks on the person of the man who gave him the opportunity to be relevant in the politics of Ghana.

Members of the media, it is instructive to note that, the sudden rise of Mr Kyerematen in the Ghanaian political circles, hinged on President Kuffuor’s magnanimity and that it is an act of ingratitude for Alan to go that tangent.

In our upbringing, we have grown to understand that gratitude is part of our culture. Again, Mr Kyerematen should know that ‘we dont bite the hands that feed us”.

Mr. Kyerematen has shown that he possesses the element of ungratefulness, selfishnessand greed.

Ladies and gentlemen, as former followers and members of Alan Kyerematen and his Movement for Change agenda, we are finding to extremely hard to understand the linkage between the endorsement of the former President and Mr Kyerematen’s attacks.

To us, Mr Kyerematen is assuming a rather disgraceful posture, behaving like a spoilt child who thinks every good thing should be about him and himself only.

We want him to understand that, former President Kuffuor remains an enviable asset to the good people of Asanteman and beyond. Therefore, Alan Kyerematen should thread carefully in order not to incur the wrath of Asanteman.

Many people have seen the practical works of Mahamudu Bawumia and the changes he has effected on the political arena of the country. It is, therefore, not surprising that only people with discerning minds are rallying behind him.

Like Kuffuor said, Dr Bawumia is on a mission, destined to take Ghana to the path of economic prosperity, and Ghanaians are awaken to this fact.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the media, as once key members of Mr Kyerematen, we have been finding it difficult to accept that widespread public perception that our former leader is doing the ultimate biding of the NDC.

However, with his recent unprovoked attacks on President Kuffuor, we are tempted to believe that such allegations are indeed, very true.

We ask, why is Alan’s attacks on Former President Kuffuor coming just days after John Mahama’s key member, Dela Edem, attacked the personality of Kuffuor?

Isn’t this so strange? This goes to confirm that Alan is in bed with the NDC.

Mr Kyerematen should note that the people of Asanteman forever hold the former president in High esteem and that anyone or group of persons who try to talk bad on him, will not be spared.

We are, therefore, cautioning Alan to desist from joining the NDC’s last minutes tactics of insults and character assassination on prominent figures, and stay off Mr. Kuffuor.

Please, Mr Kyerematen, kindly concentrate on how to revive your diminished glory and stop the unnecessary rantings.

We are watching activities closely and we will not hesitate to protect what we believe in. No body can intimate us or cow us into submission.

Thank you for your attention.
