Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah Hands Over Documents, Items To Asokwa Municipal Coordinating Director

The two-term former and foremost Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Asokwa, Chief Akwannuasah Gyimah has handed over documents and other items as well as vehicles of state to the Coordinating Director of the Asokw Municipal Assembly, Mr Samuel Owusu Mensah.

In an emotional farwell ceremony last Friday, Chief Akwannuasah presented a 200 page document that contained detailed information about things his administration undertook as well as other information about ongoing projects in Asokwa.

Present at the ceremony were all the departmental heads of the Assembly as well as Assembly Members including the Presiding Member, Hon Nana Yaw Wiredu.

In his remarks with teary eyes whole handing over, Chief Akwannuasah said, “i was honoured to serve the people of Asokwa with all the abilities God endowed me with including the education i got at the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) and the work experience i gained in Canada where I spent my adult ages to acquire skills in management”.

Items:

Apart from the 200 page document that contained his handing over notes, the outgone MCE also presented the keys to his two official cars namely a Nissan Patrol vehicle and a Suzuki Vitara pick-up vehicle.

Chief Akwannuasah also in a symbolic fashion handed over keys to all the District Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) machines at the Assembly.

Coordinating Director:

Mr Samuel Owusu Mensah, the Asokwa Municipal Coordinating Director thanked the outgone MCE for fulfilling the requirement as enshrined in the transition law of Ghana.

He also commended Chief Akwannuasah for distinguishing himself as a hands-on administrator whose tenure as the foremost MCE sparked a wave of development in all sectors in the Asokwa Municipality.

Mr Mensah therefore urged the outgone MCE to feel proud and call on the staff and officers anytime he needed their assistance in anything regarding their operational duties.

“Chief on behalf of the Asokwa Municipal Assembly staff and workers i wish you well in your future endeavours and I want you to know that we were privileged to have worked with you and the lessons of your work ethic and humanity will remain with us forever”, the MCD stated.

Presiding Member:

On his part, Hon Nana Yaw Wiredu,  Presiding Member for Asokwa and the elected Assembly Member for Ahinsan-Estate Electoral Area said the elected members as well as government appointees were lucky to have worked with such a diligent MCE.

He noted that the work rate, commitment levels of Chief Akwannuasah was commendable.

“We are all filled with emotions as you leave us to continue with your private life but we are proud to have worked with you and the patrioic principles you held so high would guide us in our future work here”, the PM stressed.
