‘Seek assistance when confronted with social challenges’ –  BCI advises women

The President of Breast Care International (BCI), Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, has advised women to seek assistance when confronted with social challenges.

She emphasized the importance of seeking help, stating that it is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Dr. Wiafe Addai made this statement during the celebration of International Women’s Day with clients, held at the Peace and Love Hospital premises at Oduom, in the Ashanti region on Friday.

Dr. Wiafe Addai’s message is particularly significant, given the numerous challenges women face in their daily lives, including health issues, domestic violence, and economic empowerment.

“Women should not suffer in silence. There are people and organizations willing to help, and it is okay to ask for assistance,” Dr. Wiafe Addai said.

Speaking under the theme “Accelerate Action,” she also urgently called for global action to stamp out ignoble acts perpetrated against women worldwide.

“Public policy interventions in furtherance of the good of women should be given the necessary boost, while the campaign against abuses should be consistent and not few and far between,” she added.

“Women everywhere should speak up and out against the unfair global economic order disproportionately skewed to favor the male gender, infringing on women who remain in majority numerically, and in most cases, are saddled with the administration of homes and the upbringing of children, often under cash-strapped circumstances,” she concluded.

By encouraging women to seek help, Dr. Wiafe Addai is promoting a culture of support and solidarity among women.

As a renowned breast cancer advocate, Dr. Wiafe Addai has dedicated her career to promoting women’s health and well-being, and her leadership and expertise have made a significant impact in Ghana and beyond.

International Women’s Day is a global celebration of women’s achievements and a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
