The Ghana Health Service is urging the public to continue to observe good hygiene, avoid close contact with symptomatic individuals, people with rashes on their body, and visit any health facility if one notices any symptoms, to help stop the spread of Mpox.
So far, 79 mpox cases have been confirmed in Ghana, with four on admission. No deaths have been recorded.
According to the GHS, a recent rise in mpox cases has been due to stronger surveillance, such as contact tracing and increased public awareness, helping the service to detect and isolate cases faster.
