A member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Victor Osei-Poku, has warned that the party will spell doom for itself in the 2028 polls if it changes Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as its flagbearer.
According to him, Dr. Bawumia is currently the best candidate to lead the party to victory in the next general elections.
The former communications officer for Nsuta Kwamang Beposo constituency believes Dr. Bawumia is the best bet for the party if they want to win back power.
Speaking to OTEC News Reporter Kwame Agyenim Boateng on Monday, July 14, 2025, Victor Osei-Poku emphasized that the party needs a more marketable candidate, looking at how crucial the 2028 polls are.
He noted that Dr. Bawumia has already garnered momentum with the electorates, adding that changing him will be disastrous for the party.
He appealed to party members to ensure Dr. Bawumia is maintained as the party’s flagbearer to secure victory in the 2028 polls.
