The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Hon. Lawyer Nana Agyeiwaa Baffour Awuah, has donated GH₵5,000 to support the SRC week celebration for students of OTEC School of Journalism and Communication Studies.
The donation follows a request from the student body, which the MP graciously honored.
The MP made the donation on Thursday, October 9, 2025, during the Specialization Completion ceremony for the students, the main event of the week-long celebration.
In his address, Hon. Baffour Awuah urged the students to strive for excellence in the media space.
“As student journalists, you have to read wide, learn the best practices, and ensure you do your work with excellence,” he emphasized.
The MP was represented by his aide, Mr. Thomas Boadu, who presented the money on his behalf.
The SRC Financial Secretary, Esther Amankwa, received the donation and expressed gratitude to the MP.
“We are very grateful for your kindness. This will help us close a financial gap we were grappling with.
” We will pray for God’s goodness and mercies for the MP as he navigates through his illustrious political career,” she said.
The SRC week celebration, which was successfully organized by the student body, featured various activities, including a cooking competition, magazine program competition, and a tour to the Barekese Dam and Manhyia Palace Museum.
The event aimed to promote cultural awareness, teamwork, and excellence among students.
