Farmers’ Day: Odotobri Rural Bank PLC supports MMDAs with GH¢62,270 worth of items
Odotobri Rural Bank PLC has donated items worth GH¢62,270.00 to selected Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) at Jacobu in support of the 41st National Farmers’ Day celebration.
The donation made to seven municipal assemblies and one district assembly within the bank’s operational areas in the Kumasi Metropolis and across the Ashanti Region aims to honour and support the efforts of farmers within these communities.
The items presented on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 included 10 boxes of cutlasses, 17 boxes of Wellington boots, 16 knapsack spraying machines, 7 tabletop gas burners, an oven, 16 radio sets, and other farming-related tools and equipment.
In an interview with OTEC FM reporter Elizabeth Gyamfuaa Fosu (Akosuah Sunday), the CEO of Odotobri Rural Bank, Mr. Abraham Kofi, explained that the donation is intended to support the best farmer of the year and encourage hardworking farmers ahead of this year’s Farmers’ Day celebration on Friday.
He noted that agriculture remains a vital pillar of Ghana’s economy, and supporting farmers is essential for sustaining food security and rural development.
Mr. Kofi stated that people should patronize their services, adding that the bank has many packages designed to support customers.
For his part, the Board Chairman of Odotobri Rural Bank, Mr. Benedict Boadi, mentioned that since the bank’s headquarters is located at Jacobu a predominantly farming community there is a need to support the farmers.
He explained that encouraging them to increase productivity is essential, especially because they also save with the bank and contribute significantly to its growth.
Representatives from the beneficiary assemblies expressed their appreciation to Odotobri Rural Bank for the timely support, stating that the items will greatly motivate farmers and enhance their operations.
