The Founder and General Overseer of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, Prophet Bernard Elbernard Nelson-Eshun, has issued a public apology to New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, following a prediction he made that failed to materialise.
The apology was conveyed in a Facebook post on Saturday, January 31, after provisional results from the NPP presidential primaries indicated that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was in the lead.
In the post, Prophet Nelson-Eshun admitted that he had publicly declared—through books, videos, and media interviews—that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong would emerge as the NPP’s flagbearer, a prediction he now concedes was inaccurate.
“I wish to address the inaccurate prophetic declarations I made concerning the New Patriotic Party presidential primaries. Through a book, videos, and media interviews, I stated that Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong would win the primaries and become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party. That word did not come to pass. I missed it. I was wrong. I am deeply sorry, and I ask for your forgiveness.”
The prophet acknowledged that his pronouncements influenced many people who trusted his message, conceding that the failed prophecy had emotional, spiritual, and political consequences.
“I take full responsibility for this prophetic word. I sincerely apologise to everyone who trusted my word and was hurt, disappointed, or negatively impacted in any way. I am especially sorry to those who made decisions based on what I declared. I do not blame anyone or shift responsibility. I accept that this prophecy, as declared, failed.”
He said the outcome had triggered deep personal reflection and a reassessment of how prophetic revelations should be communicated publicly, particularly in politically sensitive situations.
Prophet Nelson-Eshun also extended an apology to believers in Ghana and around the world who felt disappointed or wounded by the prediction, while expressing gratitude to those who corrected him in love and continue to pray for him
