Register to formalize membership- Justin Kodua Appeals to NPP sympathisers

Lawyer Justin Kodua Frimpong, NPP General Secretary

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), has issued a rallying call to party sympathizers to formalize their status during the upcoming national registration exercise.

Scheduled to run from March 1 to March 31, the exercise encourages supporters to register at their respective polling stations and fulfill their dues to become “paid-up” members in good standing.

Speaking from his private residence, Lawyer Kodua emphasized that the party is committed to building a comprehensive, digitized database to streamline national planning and strategy.

“As a party that relies on data to project and plan our future, it is essential that our members view this registration as a vital step in our collective progress,” Kodua stated.

Benefits of Registration:

The General Secretary highlighted several critical advantages for those who participate in the exercise:

Eligibility for Leadership:

Only registered, paid-up members will be eligible to contest for executive positions at the polling station, constituency, regional, or national levels.

Official Standing:

Completion of the process ensures members are recognized as being in “good standing” within the party hierarchy.

Diaspora Inclusion:

Special provisions have been made for supporters living abroad to register through their respective international chapters and branches.

“We have designed this process to be inclusive,” Kodua noted.

Additionally, he added that, “regardless of where a sympathizer lives or works, there is a clear avenue for them to become a formal member.”

Internal Concerns:

Lawyer Kodua also took the opportunity to debunk rumors regarding internal bias and the “protection” of specific incumbents.

Fair Competition:

He dismissed claims that certain individuals would be shielded or preserved as executives based on their past support for specific candidates.

He reaffirmed that the party remains a meritocracy.

Equal Opportunity:

The General Secretary categorically denied that any member would be barred from contesting internal elections.

He assured that as long as a member is registered and their dues are settled, they have an undisputed right to run for office at their polling station.

Commitment to Transparency:

“No one will be prevented from seeking office,” Kodua assured.

He added,  “As General Secretary, I will personally ensure that the guidelines governing our registration and restructuring efforts are strictly respected and adhered to.”
