The Running Mate for the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has called on traders in the Ashanti Region to endorse NDC’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, the former president is the only candidate who has women and trading at heart, adding that, businesses will thrive should the NDC wins power come 2024 polls.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang said this when she engaged some traders at the Kejetia Market in the Kumasi Metropolis on Wednesday May 15, 2024.
Addressing hundreds of traders who welcomed her in open arms, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang called out on the governing New Patriotic Party NPP saying the party has neglected the needs on traders in the Ashanti Region.
She added that, John Mahama has a proven track record as a Nation-builder, adding that, he remains the best candidate to make the impact Ghanaians, particularly traders have been lacking in the last eight years.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang believes that, rallying behind Mr Mahama, traders can work towards a government that better represents their interests and addresses their concerns
Responding to her calls, the Queen Mother for Dry fish Sellers at the Kumasi Kejetia Market, Grace Agyei Nyarko encouraged traders to vote massively for the opposition National Democratic Congress NDC
He noted that, the has on different occasions come up with policies and infrastructure that have supported trading activities in the Ashanti Region and Ghana at large
She however pledge their full support to the NDC in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
