Focus on practical side of teaching and learning – CEO of Royalton International School appeals to teachers

It has been suggested that teachers focus on the practical side of teaching and learning in addition to the theoretical side.
As suggested, teacher-led field trips and excursions offer students life-changing opportunities to extend their study outside the classroom.
The Chief Executive Officer of Royalton International School at Kotwi in the Atwima Kwanwoma district in the Ashanti region, Mrs Judith Oteng Marfo, made the suggestion.
Her suggestion came after she led a 13-team from Royalton International School, which included ten children and three management members on a 10-day trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, from August 12 to August 22, 2024.
“Children integrate multiple subjects and foster a broader understanding through trips where they observe theoretical concepts applied in real-world settings,” Mrs Oteng Marfo stated.
She continued, “Experiential learning through travel and excursions enhances understanding of subjects like history, science, and culture, augments classroom teaching, and makes abstract concepts more tangible.”
In her account of the trip, Judith Oteng Marfo told otecfmghana.com that these kinds of excursions “spark curiosity and inspire future interests,” as well as help kids develop life skills, strengthen their emotional intelligence, and build lifelong memories.
Mrs Judith Oteng Marfo said that “these kinds of trips inspire kids’ curiosity and future interests while boosting their confidence, enhancing their emotional intelligence, and developing life skills.”
Some of the kids who also shared their experiences with otecfmghana.com said it was a great feeling and the experiences were nice, and they hope to embark on such international trips to broaden their academic and social lives.
