Government Declares Friday And Monday Public Holidays

The Ministry of the Interior has officially declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as statutory public holidays across Ghana in observance of the Easter festivities.
In a press release issued on Monday, the Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, confirmed that the two days—Good Friday and Easter Monday—will be recognized nationwide as public holidays.
The announcement aligns with the Christian calendar, which marks Easter as a significant period of reflection, celebration, and religious observance.
Good Friday, observed on April 18 this year, commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. It is a solemn day for Christians around the world and is traditionally marked by church services, fasting, and prayers.
Easter Monday, falling on April 21, is celebrated the day after Easter Sunday, which signifies the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
