Archbishop Anokye Urges Media to Promote Peace and Unity

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, Bishop Justice  Gabriel Anokye, has called on the media fraternity to remain transparent and bold in their reporting to ensure peaceful coexistence among citizens.

Speaking at the National Thanksgiving Day celebration at the Calvary Charismatic Center at Ayigya, Archbishop Anokye emphasized the importance of accurate and unbiased reporting in maintaining Ghana’s peace.

Archbishop Anokye stressed that the media plays a crucial role in promoting peace and unity in Ghana.

He urged media practitioners to avoid biased reporting, tribalism, and religious sentiments that could incite division. The Archbishop also emphasized the need to combat corruption in society, stating that Ghana’s peace and prosperity depend on it.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of keeping youth away from harmful practices, including LGBTQ+ activities, to ensure a prosperous nation. He urged citizens to prioritize national unity and peaceful coexistence.

Rev. Dr. Douglas Frimpong, Chairman of the Planning Committee of the Kumasi Council of Churches, also spoke at the event, encouraging Ghanaians to live righteous lives and express gratitude for the country’s relative peace.

Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister, thanked Ghanaians, particularly men of God, for their contributions to the successful organization of the event nationwide. He assured Ghanaians of the government’s readiness to listen to the wise counsel of all stakeholders to ensure a prosperous nation.
