Bosome Freho: Dompa chief Appeals for urgent reconstruction of deplorable road network

The newly enstooled chief of Dompa in the Bosome Freho District of the Ashanti Region, Nana Oppong Bona Antwi Okumtrɔmoo, has made a passionate appeal to the District Chief Executive, Hon. Charles Appiah Kubi, to urgently rehabilitate the deteriorating Temiabu–Ankaase–Dompa road.

The chief who also made the same appeal to the Member of Parliament, Hon. Nana Asafo Agyei Ayeh, described the road’s condition as a major hindrance to the socio-economic development of the area.
During a community engagement at the Dompa Community Center on Monday, October 20, 2025, Nana Oppong Bona Antwi Okumtrɔmoo expressed serious concern about the six-kilometer stretch linking the three communities.
He noted that the poor state of the road has made transportation extremely difficult, forcing residents to rely mostly on motorbikes and a few commercial vehicles, which often charge high fares due to the rough terrain.
Nana Oppong Bona Antwi Okumtrɔmoo lamented that the road’s condition has led to frequent vehicle breakdowns and has significantly increased travel time.
He added that several accidents have occurred along the route, especially during the rainy season, putting the lives of residents at constant risk.
According to Nana Oppong Bona, the community is gradually losing hope, and there is an urgent need for government intervention.
He stressed that improving the road network would not only enhance transportation but also attract development and boost economic activities in the area.
Residents who spoke to the media welcomed the chief’s appeal and praised his leadership.
They expressed optimism that his efforts would bring the much-needed attention to their long-standing infrastructural challenges, especially the road, which they described as their biggest setback.
