The Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Hon. Kwabena Boateng, Esq., has issued a strong condemnation of the unlawful storming and closure of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) office in Ejisu by some NDC youth on Monday, 16th March 2026.
In a statement released for immediate attention, the MP demanded the removal of the newly posted NHIA Municipal Director, describing the act as a blatant disregard for law and order that jeopardizes the welfare of residents dependent on public services.
Hon. Boateng emphasized that no political group has the right to shut down a state institution, noting that such conduct disrupts essential health services, intimidates public officers, and harms ordinary citizens who rely on the NHIA for healthcare support.
He stressed that public offices serve all Ghanaians, not party interests, and that interference with the NHIA’s operations places unnecessary hardship on families, the elderly, pregnant women, and vulnerable citizens who depend on the scheme for treatment.
The MP called on the NDC leadership in Ejisu and at the national level to immediately rein in their supporters and condemn the conduct, asserting that leadership requires responsibility and discipline from party members.

He also urged the Ghana Police Service to act swiftly, investigate the incident, and apply the law without fear or favour to restore order and enforce accountability.
Hon. Boateng reaffirmed his commitment to protecting public institutions, respecting the rule of law, and advancing the peaceful development of the Ejisu constituency, stating that disorder and intimidation will not hinder progress in the area.
Some aggrieved supporters of the National Democratic Congress have locked up the district office of the National Health Insurance Authority at Ejisu.
The youth are protesting what they describe as the neglect of party loyalists in government appointments.
They claim that individuals who worked tirelessly for the party ahead of the 2024 elections have been overlooked in the distribution of government positions.
