Ashanti Business Expo: Minister urges business community to promote Ashanti Region for development

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has called on the business community to join hands and promote the region as a prime destination for investment.

Speaking at the opening session of the 2026 Ashanti Business Expo at Kumasi Jubilee Park, on Monday, Dr. Amoakohene emphasized that showcasing the region’s potential will attract development and create jobs for the youth.

The event, organized by the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industries, brought together over 100 businesses to showcase their products and services.

Dr. Amoakohene assured the business community of government support, saying, “President John Dramani Mahama’s government is committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, particularly in the Ashanti Region.”

He highlighted key government initiatives, including major infrastructural projects aimed at promoting businesses and removing transportation bottlenecks faced by traders.

“Road projects under the Big Push are geared towards facilitating trade,” he noted.

Dr. Amoakohene also cited policies aimed at supporting traders, such as halting extortion by some customs officers, which has given huge relief to traders.

He pledged the government’s continued support for the business community with sound and pragmatic policies.

The Ashanti Business Expo provided a platform for businesses to link up, showcase their products, and explore new opportunities.
