NPP Pepeye Fun Club donates to Kumasi Children Home

Nana Pepeye Fun Club, a Kumasi based youth wing of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), as part of activities to mark their ‘Week’s Celebration’, donated assorted items to the Kumasi Children’s Home on Sunday February 18, 2018.
The items, which worth GHC 4,000, included wax print, bales of used clothes, diapers, tissues, tooth paste and brushes.
Others are washing and bath soaps, foot wears and soft drinks.
Presenting the items to the Home, the chairman of the fun club, Mohammed Issah Ababio, told Otec News’ reporter Francis Appiah that their gesture was to encourage the inmates to develop their full potentials, regardless of their situation, and make them feel part of the society.
“These children don’t have parents, it’s up to the society to take care of them, to let them know that we are their parents. Don’t be surprise that these children are our future leaders, some will be ministers, pastors and doctors. We are here to encourage them, make them feel that the society has not neglect them so they should learn whatever they are thought so that they will be good leaders,” he echoed.
“This will not the last time we are visiting them, next time that we come, it will a bigger one like this, we will come and dine with them, probably, awarding some scholarship to some of the inmates to further their education at the various senior high schools,’ he pledged.
The Assistance Home Manageress, Madam Linda Osei, who received the items on behalf of the Home, expressed her profound gratitude to the club and promised to use them for their purposes.
“We will use this opportunity to appeal the general public to come to the assistance of the Home, we are always here through the kind courtesies of the public, as Oliver Twist, we will always ask for more, so please our doors are open to receive you again,” she added.
The club members interacted with some of the inmates, dance with them and took photographs with them.
