Photos: Chancellor Otumfuo inspects KNUST

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has embarked on an inspection tour of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) days after students vandalized properties to protest against brutalities melted against them by the school security personnel.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is the Chancellor of the University, was out of the country when all the incidents occurred.

The University was closed down indefinitely while the Governing Council was dissolved by government, which has since made a U-turn and deferred to the Asantehene.

On Wednesday, the King of the Ashanti Kingdom inspected the extent of damages caused to properties at the school during the students’ riots.

Already, destroyed items have been estimated at between GH¢1.6 million and GH¢1.7 million.
