Overwhelmed teacher and her husband at Beposo in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti Region, are sending a strong signal that the family would demand for transfers if authorities fail to assure them of their security.
Beposo like Asiakwa in the Eastern Region has been in the news for the wrong reasons when a female teacher of Beposo Roman Catholic School Madam Juliana Dwomoh was physically assaulted by one Noah Sefa, a suspected drug addict.
But speaking on the ordeal suffered by his wife on Otec fm’s Nyansapo morning show, Mr. Otuo Acheampong, the husband of the female teacher expressed their insecurity after the incident broke out adding transfer remains the ultimate alternative for their own safety.
Touching on the assault of his wife, Mr. Otuo Acheampong said he received a distress call from his wife’s school that one Noah Sefa has pelted her with a stone, and he quickly rushed to the scene. He noted that in his quest to apprehend Noah Sefa, there was a struggle in the process, and the assailant suffered a cut at the chin.
In a similar interview with Madam Juliana Dwomoh on the same programme, she expressed disappointment at the Krontihene of the town Nana Appiah Nuama 2nd for refusing to show concern to her situation.
She insisted, “the Krontihene was concerned with his son when he visited us. He did not show any concern to me and it made me feel bad though he saw the injuries I suffered.”
Madam Juliana Dwomoh maintained that claims by the family that her assailant is mentally challenged is a blatantly lie, adding that the young man usually goes about his duties like going to farm and fetching water for money without showing signs of madness.
Asked why she was attacked by Noah Sefa, the nursing mother disclosed that the man claimed she accused him of theft at Sefwi in the Western Region some time ago a statement the female teacher flatly denied maintaining that she has not been to any station apart from Beposo.
Madam Juliana Dwomoh hinted that some authorities in the town have since started in mitigating in the matter. She said leaders of Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) have taken over the matter though the case is in the hands of the Kuntanase Police Command. Madam Juliana Dwomoh has also been treated and discharged by the hospital.
