Assemblies of God members in Volta Lake accident; four dead, 3 missing
A Canoe carrying 10 members of the Assemblies of God Church from Senchi to old Akrade in the Asuogyaman district of the Eastern has capsized on the Volta Lake.
Three of the victims have been rescued, four bodies including a female body have been retrieved while a search is ongoing for the three missing victims.
They were returning from a Church Program Saturday afternoon when the incident occurred.
An Assembly Member, Issah Laweh, who is leading the rescue team told OtecNews the local divers and fishermen in the area are still searching for the rest of the missing victims.
Boat accident is intermittently recorded on the Volta lake as locals do not adhere to safety precautions including refusal to wear live jacket despite continuous awareness by NADMO officials in the District.
