Names of more soldiers are popping up in the foiled coup plot it is possible those mentioned could be arraigned before court in the coming days, Otecfmghana.com reports.
This portal gathered that those arrested in connection with the plot, are giving leads to security agencies who are picking their accomplices one after the other after the chief mastermind, Dr. Frederick Yao Mac-Palm was arrested over a week ago
So far, eight persons including Lance Corporal Ali Solomon, Lance Corporal Godwin Nii Ankrah, Lance Corporal Sylvester Akapewu, Lance Corporal Baba Ibrahim, Lance Corporal Seidu Abubakar and one WO2 Esther Saan aka Mama Gee of the Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) are in the grips of the police.
The rest are a senior military officer, Colonel Samuel Kojo Gameli, together with a civilian employee of the Ghana Armed Force, Gershon Akpa, were put before the court last week and remanded in BNI custody.
All the suspects have been slapped with five charges including; conspiracy to commit crime – Manufacture of arms and ammunition without lawful authority, conspiracy to commit crime – Possession of explosives and firearms without lawful authority, manufacture of firearms without lawful authority, manufacture of explosives and ammunition’s without lawful authority and possession of explosives and firearms.
Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako who is privy to a video recording of meetings with the coupists revealed that security agents infiltrated the ranks of the five leaders ‘coup plotters’ who were planning on taking over the country from the Akufo-Addo-led government.
He stated that the persons joined the plotters, pretending to be conspirators and succeeded in filming and recording every bit of their action over the fifteen-month period within which they planned in order to expose them.
“…you see the manufacturing in action. You see they had been infiltrated. It was the infiltrators who were videoing and recording for fifteen months,” he revealed Saturday on Multimedia’s Newsfile programme monitored by Otecfmghana.com hosted by Samson Ayenini.
