Dismiss KMA Waste Management Director – Asemblyman

Assembly Man for K.O. electoral area in the Kumasi metropolis, Hon. Kesse, has called for the Dismissal of the waste management director of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly for negligence of duty.

 ”If he thinks the work load is too heavy for him, he should simply resign for a more competent person to take his place.”

Speaking on Otec fm, Hon. Kesse noted that filth has engulfed his electoral area especially, Dr.Mensah and kejetia which as a result is ruining the beauty of the city

“I have made a lot of complaints to the Assembly to curb the menace but to no avail”, he reiterated.

Hon. Kesse explained that it is the duty and responsibility of the waste management section of the assembly to see to it that all the filth in the Kumasi metropolis have beem collected but they seem to have abandoned their duties.

He claims to have reported the  matter to the authorities on countless occassions but nothing good has come out of it and is therefore calling for the dismissal of the director in charge of waste management at the assembly if the work  load is above him.

Some of the  traders, passengers and Market women at  Dr. Mensah and kejetia who added their voices to the call said, they are overwhelmed about the little attention given to the issue of filth by city authorities despite levying them everyday with the purpose of making the environment clean for their business.

According to them, the stench of filth heaped at various places around the market for the past one week has given the place an unpleasant and health threatening smell.

They however fear for an outbreak of cholera should the filth remain there for more days.
