Ghana Free from terror attack – Irbad Ibrahim

Security analyst and international relations expert, Irbad Ibrahim has counselled security agencies  to conscientise the minds of the people against eventuality of any terror attack.
“The security agencies; police, armed forces, BNI and others should do more to prepare the people on what to do in case of any attack”, he advised.
“If terrorists attack Kumasi mall now like what happened in Kenya, what should be their response, what should they do at that emergency situation”, suggesting education.
He told Kumasi-based Otec FM that, stimulating the citizenry will be one of the best ways to reduce the number of  casualties which maybe as a result of any external attack.
Mr. Irbad Ibrahim suggestion comes at the back of advice from the UK  and the Canadian Embassies in Ghana to it’s citizens in the country about an imminent terrorist attack  against them at some public places.
However, Mr. Irbad Ibrahim explains the warning is just a travelling advise to UK citizens and Ghana should not be scared of any external attack though it has happened to Burkina Faso and Kenya all in West Africa.
“Ghanaians should relax. …this should not cause fear and panic”, urging the security agencies to be on alert to avoid any unforeseen circumstances.
Meanwhile, the government has stated Ghana is not a target of terrorist attack or insurgency because of our peaceful nature as a country.
“Ghana is free from any attack by terrorist groups because they themselves know we are a peaceful nation”, Deputy Minister of Defense, Major (rtd) Derrick Oduro stated eralier.
