Kumasi Roundabouts to be built into interchanges – Urban roads
Government plans to redevelop every roundabout in the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi into interchange to ease the unbearable traffic jam in the metropolis.
“The roundabouts will be redeveloped and turned into interchanges when funds are available”, Metropolitan Urban Roads Director, Nana Poku revealed.
“The Bekwai roundabout will be developed to link sofoline interchange. The one at Suame and the Airport Roundabout and many in the metropolises are going to be turned into interchanges”, he listed.
This comes at the time people in the region are calling on the government for infrastructural development, claiming they have been neglected by the previous administration.
According to them, the road networks in the metropolis are unmotorable and need urgent maintenance to curb possible road accidents.
Meanwhile, otecfmghana.com gathers construction works have began on the Bekwai Roundabout and several others are also seeing a facelift after residents appealed to authorities.
