Two heads of Senior High Schools (SHS) in the country have been sacked for breaching the guidelines on the implementation of the Free SHS education policy rolled out by government Tuesday.
The two, Blasu Wisdom, headmaster of Pentecost SHS in Koforidua and Rev. S.P Elewokor, assistant headmaster of Duffor SHS, are “to be posted outside the school to teach in a classroom”.
They were found guilty of various infractions including extortion. Headmaster of Duffor Senior High, Mr S.C.K Agbakey is to be “reprimanded for poor supervision” Seven others, including headmasters, have also been interdicted by the Ghana Education Service (GES) pending further investigations into allegations made against them on the Free SHS policy.
They are Mrs Florence Prah, headmistress of Kwanyako Senior High; Mrs Mercy Ocloo, headmistress of Ahantaman Senior High; Mr Julian Okun, headmaster of Akumfi Ameyaw Senior High; Mr Jacob Baazang, Assistant Headmaster and Mr George Frimping Kwarteng of Akumfi Ameyaw Senior High.
The rest are Mr Christian Attram Gyetekey, headmaster of Asesewa Senior High and Samuel Salaman, headmaster of the Presby Senior High School at La in Accra.
Mr Salaman, according to the Ghana Education Service, refused an invitation to attend a meeting with the Directog General of GES on Thursday.
