Asafo Neoplan Station impasse: STC ordered to put movement on hold (AUDIO)
The Ashanti regional Minister Simon Osei has ordered managers of state transport company (STC) to put their planned movement to the Neoplan bus Station at Asafo in Kumasi on hold.
Workers of the VIP Transport Services clashed with staff and management of STC preventing them from operating at the bus terminal Monday.
The VIP workers claim STC did not use the right means to secure their space at the Asafo terminal and so will not allow them entry.
It will be recalled that a turf fight led drivers and staff of VIP Transport Services to block STC buses from entering the terminal to inaugurate the operations of STC within the yard on Monday, October 16.
The resultant chaos brought operations at the terminal to a standstill according to otecfmghana.com
STC was moving its operations from Adum to the Asafo Terminal and claimed it had acquired space within the terminal from the Ghana Private Roads and Transport Union (GPRTU) for its operations.
However, VIP Transport Services said STC did not go through the proper processes of gaining access into the terminal for operations, and so would not allow their buses entry.
The regional minister is expected to meet both parties again on Friday.
