Beware: enemies of state are at work again, targets BOST boss
It seems to me that enemies of state have still not learnt to zip their serpentine tongues in their elephantine mouths. To say that COPEC is doing the bidding for the enemies within justifiable, as I deem it, and as clear as the grey of an impending flatulent storm.
The enemies of progress have schemed from day one to sabotage and disgrace Mr Alfred Obeng but INSHA ALLAH, they’ve failed woefully.
In July of last year, in what was hitherto a routine exercise at BOST where contaminated fuels were either the sole preserve of cronyism or sold to unlicensed buyers at a cheap price became a Scandal under the humble and competent MD Mr Oneng, Why? Is that mere hatred or shear jealousy by so-called enemies of state?.
According to a Kumasi Based communication expert Moro Kabore, though under Mr Alfred Obeng who is due to receive awards from the People of Sefwi-Wiawso, these ‘contaminated fuel’ which was deliberately contaminated by recalcitrant citizens just to dash it out to their followers were rather sold at a price much higher than it would have been sold if given the opportunity to other industry player.
State institutions including the Bureau of National Investigation and CHRAJ investigated this so-called ‘scandal’ and Mr. Obeng was exonerated from all these frivolous allegations.
Fast forward to 2018, the saboteurs are still bent on bringing this man down with frivolous allegations.
Mr. Duncan Amoah, a man struggling to gain acceptance as an expert in the energy sector, is alleging impropriety on the part of Mr. Obeng again.
According to him, about 1.8 million barrels of crude was sold below the market price at the time it was sold and financial loss has been caused to the state by BOST.
One may ask, since when did Duncan Amoah turned into an investigator? Or he is now the Anas of the energy sector?
One would have also thought that, if he, Duncan Amoah, was sincere with himself and to those of us who abhor corruption and would want value for money pursued at all times, would have petitioned an investigative body or the police to probe what he is alleging to have found.
But no, he, in his usual populist posture decides to go haywire on social media accusing an innocent man of impropriety without affording the man he accused the opportunity to be heard. And basically concluding that, Mr. Obeng is guilty as alleged by him. Well, Duncan Amoah may have turned himself into a judge overnight I guess.
And to make matters worse, Duncan Amoah further alleged that, some people called to threatened him on the orders of Mr. Obeng.
I may not be closer to Mr. Obeng, but I know he is not as dumb as Duncan Amoah would have us believe as to ask people to go and threatened Amoah and categorically stating that they were sent by Mr. Obeng. Warp logic!
It is clear from the foregoing that, Duncan Amoah’s real intention of publishing these falsehoods and unsubstantiated allegations full of malice goes beyond just wanting to protect the public purse or to fight corruption. His intentions seemed latent but very parochial and not for the progress of the state.
I have gathered that, almost two weeks ago this same Duncan Amoah arranged to meet Mr Obeng with one transporter at Golden Tulip, Accra and pleaded with Mr Obeng that things are hard so he should give the transporter who he Duncan Amoah looks up to as a father a haulage job so that the transporter can in turn take care of him (Duncan Amoah). Though Mr Obeng has not been able to help the man ( the transporter) but should this call for this blackmail?
People must not stand by while good people are being persecuted without any justifiable reason.
I, MK, won’t sit down and allow good people to be persecuted by people whose credibility is and has also being in tatters and sees sabotage as a lucrative business.
Saboteurs of state progress must not be allowed to flourish.
I am however console that, the Sefwi Traditional Council has seen the goodness in Mr. Obeng and has decided to honour this young and enterprising man for his dedication and commitment to Mother Ghana.
Let’s not also forget that, these machinations from Duncan Amoah and his pay masters has an ultimate aim and target. Their aim and target isn’t Mr. Obeng but our president, Nana Addo.
I’m however picking signals from sources close to Mr. Obeng that, his lawyers are preparing to sue Mr Duncan Amoah for defamation of character and impugning him with criminality. This is the way to go.
He must first be made to prove his accusations of Mr. Obeng threats on his life, then we can start talking.
Am therefor, calling on Ghanaians to ignore the recent accusations levelled against Alfred Obeng, MD of Bulk Oil Storage Limited (BOST) by The Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers, Ghana (COPEC) Duncan Amoah.
Mr Duncan Amoah of COPEC is engaging in broad daylight blackmail to gain undeserved favors from BOST.
Secondary, THE CHAMBER of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC), with most of their Board of Director were former government appointees gave President a 30-day ultimatum to fire the Minister for Energy, Mr Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, for his inability to deal with the frequent increases of prices of fuel in the country.
According to COPEC, the minister has lost touch with the stark realities on the ground, hence the need for his immediate replacement.
In an interview with the DAILY HERITAGE about a month ago, Mr Duncan Amoah, Executive Secretary, COPEC, expressed disappointment in the ministry’s inability to protect the interest of the general public from persistent fuel price hikes, saying “they [the ministry] is living in self-denial.”
Things might not get better for all of us anytime soon if the status quo remains as it is,” he told the paper
He continued that, “If the President doesn’t fire the minister, then we can say that he [the President] is in support of the frequent hike in fuel prices.”
In a press statement released earlier, Mr Amoah argued that, “The impending increases in transport fares by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union is, indeed, an indication of pretty difficult times ahead as the outlook for 2018 gives no indication of global prices dropping anywhere below the $40/barrel.”
This was the stand of COPEC boss, Mr Duncan Amoah of which that allegation turned not be outright falsehood but baseless and frivolous, so it seems to me that Mr Amoah has no integrity and therefore should not be given any much needed attention.
“I’m asking all Ghanaians to ignore the rantings of Duncan Amoah. Nobody has time for people who peddle lies. Ghana has seen tremendous progress, and no amount of negatives will wash away the goodwill President Akufo Addo, and his appointees enjoy in Ghana.”
