A 25 year old man Moslem has been killed at Ahwia in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti region when a fight ensued between the Zongo and Asante youth on Monday March 19, 2018.

Three persons sustained various degrees of injuries, including a teacher, who was sent to Tafo Government Hospital for treatments.

The deceased, Musah Kabore, was butchered when Asante youth group were rescuing an attacked female teacher of Big Six Remedial School in the area from a group of Zongo youth who had gone there to beat the teacher on reasons yet to be known.

The Assembly member for the area, Hon. Brenya K. Vasco, speaking in an interview with Otec News’ Nana Asare Barimah denied been a renew clash between the Zongo and Asante youth that happened last February this year.

“As I speak to you now we don’t know what actually brought about the fight which caused the death of Musah, but I can say that it is not a renew clash between the Zongos and the Asantes. We will definitely found out at the end of the day and those found guilty will be made to face the law,” he told Nana Asare Barimah.

His body has been conveyed to the Tafo Government Hospital mortuary.

Prevention of the Zongo youth to participate in the burial and funeral rites of a deceased Asante lady by the Asantes in the community in February this year resulted in a bloody clash using broken bottles and machetes to attack each other.
