A communication team member of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Charles Akowuah Tuffour, has jabbed President Nana Akuffo Addo for failing to deliver on his promise of providing free school uniforms to Senior High School (SHS) students nationwide as government owe tailors several millions of Ghana cedis.
Speaking to journalists Sunyani, the eloquent communicator who is vying for the post of Brong Ahafo Regional Communication Officer of the NDC said President Akuffo Addo has rendered dressmakers and tailors who supplied school uniforms to senior high schools in the country poor since the government has not been able to pay for their services.
Mr. Akowuah argued that suppliers of sewing materials for these dressmakers and tailors have been demanding payment but they (dressmakers and tailors) are unable to settle their debt since the government has still not paid them.
This situation he stated was not the case during NDC’s reign.
Mr. Akowuah consequently challenged charged President Akuffo Addo to apologize to parents that the burden is too much on his administration; therefore he cannot continue supplying them with the school uniforms.
