The Paramount Chief of Tamale in the Northern region, Gulkpei Naa Alhaji Alhassan Abdullah has praised the President of Breasts Care International ( BCI ) Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Wiafe Addai for her selfless dedication in the campaign against breast cancer disease in Ghana, a mission, he thought will improve the heathcare of Ghanaian women if supported.
Gulkpei Naa said women’s role in the socio-economic development of the country cannot be undermined as they are the bed rocks of every family, and Dr Wiafe Addai is a true representative of women in the country who needs to be encouraged and supported, not only by individuals but by the government, in seeking the welfare of Ghanaian women.
Gulkpei Naa said this on Friday, June 8, 2018, in his palace in Tamale when Dr. Wiafe Addai and her team visited the Tamale paramount chief to official inform him of the upcoming ‘BCI Walk for the Cure’s scheduled for Saturday, October 27, 2018, an annual event done to raise awareness of breast cancer in a chosen city in the country.
The BCI team was led to the palace by Hajia Alima Mahama, the wife of the Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Salifu Saaed, and other Municipal Chief Executives (MCEs).
Gulkpei Naa, blessing Dr. Wiafe Addai and her team said “if the country has women like her, our women will no longer suffer from breast cancer and other diseases, they will be strong and healthy. If our mothers, sisters and daughters are sick, you see how the other members of the family suffer? It shows that without women, we men cannot do anything. So we should encourage such dedicated women who have women’s health at heart.”
“So on behalf of myself, my people of Tamale and the Northern region, I welcome you all to Tamale, we will do everything possible to make the event successful, both spiritually and physically and if you need any assistance, do not hestitate to inform us. It’s a good news for our women here as it will improve the healthcare and well beings of them. We thank you for chosen the city for the event, we are proud, and please enjoy our hospitality,” the Tamale overlord concluded.
