
President Nnana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has ended his two day working tour of the Upper East Region. President Akufo-Addo was in Sandema to address a durbar of the chiefs and people of the Builsa Traditional Area. He was met on arrival by the Overlord of the Area, Nab Azagsuk Azantilow and his sub chiefs.
The paramount chief was however, appreciative of the fact that government was keen on implementing the one district one factory policy and said his leadership has earmarked three thousand acre land for the establishment of an industrial park.
President Akufo-Addo in response said his government was committed to improving infrastructure at all levels and called on the people to support his long term vision for accelerated development.
President Akufo-Addo who confirmed his participation in this year’s annual Feok Festival slated for December 20, 2018 was later decorated with a smock to show appreciation for the visit.
Earlier, the President in the company of other government officials inspected progress of work on the second phase of the Sandema-Domingo- Santijan-Wa road.
Work on the 22 kilometre stretch which was awarded on contract to Myturn Construction limited in November 2016 is said to be behind schedule.
The road with funding from the Ghana road fund is expected to open up the area when finally completed.
At the project site, President Akufo Addo entreated the contractor in charge to speed up work on the road project.
He also cut sod for the construction of a modern police headquatres for the Builsa North District.
The next tour of President Akufo-Addo will be in the Northern Region where is expected to carry out similar activities in the region.
