Amissah-Arthur died out of extreme frustrations- Lecturer

A Senior lecturer at Kumasi Technical University Dr Solomom Fokuo Kwarteng believes  former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur died out of extreme frustrations since NDC’s unfair treatment to  the former Bank of Ghana Governor caused his sudden death adding that the party failed to exhibit maximum compassion and love to   the former second gentleman in Ghana.

According to Dr Fokuo, the NDC did not treat Amissah-Arthur fairly, the party neglected him after the party went into opposition in 2016, he was victimized, vilified, chastised, and blamed for the party’s abysmal performance in election 2016 especially in the Central region, the home region for the former VEEP.

Speaking on OTEC FM’s news analysis programme, ‘KEJETIA’ on Saturday June 30, 2018  Dr Fokuo  who is the Head of Entrepreneurial Department at Kumasi Technical University was of the view that,  the former Governor of Bank of Ghana was frustrated and as a result of over thinking and disappointment from his own party over blatant neglect.

He observed the party had plans to select a new person as a running mate should the former President John Mahama contest and win the upcoming NDC presidential primaries, which was disheartening news to the former BOG Governor.

Former Vice President Amissah Arthur died on Friday, June 29, 2018. He was said to have collapsed during a morning workout session. Ghanaians woke up in the morning to hear the sad news of the death of former Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur.

He was said to have collapsed during a morning workout at the Airforce Gym where he himself had drove to exercise. The former vice president was reported to have been rushed to the 37 Military Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Following his demise, many Ghanaians including former Presidents John Mahama John Kufour, John Rawlings and President Akufo-Addo and his Vice Dr Mahhadu Bawumia have all expressed deep shock.

But Dr Solomon Fokuo is not enthused over hypocritical nature of some party members who now sharing crocodile tears after maligning and humiliated the  late VEEP publicly.

He noted that, the leadership of the party never involved the late Amissah Arthur in the ‘Unity Walks’ and only gave the platforms to former President Mahama to market himself.

“The leadership didn’t do well at all for deliberately ignored Mr. Amissah Arthur from the most of the NDC activities including Unity Walks but rather gave the platforms to other aspirants to showcase themselves, so these  are the things contributed to his death and I’m also blaming Mr. John Mahama for also neglecting Mr. Amissah”, he explained to the pregramme’s host Nana Agyemang, aka ‘Agyengo’.

“How can somebody who was not sick passed on just like that, this is serious, late Amissah Arthur was not treated fairly, his soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.

“I’m looking forward for a brave man like Julius Malema  from South Africa to deliver some tributes that will put these hypocrites to massive shame,’’ he fumed.

Julius Malema tribute at Winnie Madikizela-Mandela

These fiery words from EFF leader Julius Malema had the thousands of mourners at the Orlando Stadium gathered for the funeral of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela chanting in support.

Malema delivered a moving tribute to the late icon who treated him as a son and was known for supporting him during his political troubles.

Malema said despite his grief at the loss‚ he is comforted in the way she died‚ adding that she did not sell out her people.

“Mama those who sold you out to the regime are here. They are crying the loudest more than all of us who cared for you‚” he said addressing the late icon.

Malema called out people who attacked Madikizela-Mandela during her lifetime‚ first lashing out at the former leaders of the United Democratic Front (UDF) who held a press conference during Apartheid to disassociate themselves with her.

He also attacked ANC leaders who called her a criminal and who further prevented her from speaking at youth struggle icon Peter Mokaba’s funeral.
