
The ministry of Health (MoH) is set to meet leadership of the Ghana Physician Assistant Association to address concerns leading to their strike action. According to the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr. Robert Cudjoe, several engagements had been going on to address the situation without an agreement.
He says the ministry is hopeful to reach an amicable and lasting settlement during the final meeting to be held on Tuesday 18 September so that the Physicians Assistant Association will resume work immediately.
Speaking in an interview on OTEC FM’s morning show dubbed NYANSAPO, Alhaji Imoro stated that government has failed to pay their salary arrears and further work on their conditions of service especially with members working in rural areas.
About two thousand (2000) members of the Physician Assistant Association last week an industrial strike action on all Out-Patient Department (OPD) cases following an earlier ultimatum to government.
According to President of the Ghana Physician Assistant Association, Alhaji chief Imoro Bandana ll, government have taken them for granted hence a need to express their displeasure.
