‘Insensitive’ KATH Management Procures Two Brand New Camry Cars

In-depth investigations conducted into the administration of Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso, the Chief Executive Officer of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital by OTECFM online has revealed that the current administration has procured two Toyota Camry cars for the private use of the Chief Executive Officer and the Medical Director of the facility.

One of the cars belonging to the Medical Director of KATH has since been involved in a fatal accident beyond repairs. It has also been established that the wife of the Medical Director was the one using the car at the time of the accident.

According to a deep-throat source, most of the staff of KATH cannot understand why the management decided to acquire the two luxurious vehicles while the hospital is currently in dire needs of pressing issues describing the decision as “incomprehensible.’  They are again demanding answers from the management for refusing to use the available fleet of cars procured by the previous administrations.

A senior staff member of the facility confided in the reporter that they (staff) are always not supplied with the right brand and number of facemasks and hand sanitizers and as a result most of the medical officers who usually work at the surgical wards are compelled to buy the nose masks themselves.

It was further revealed that the management has refused to act in terms of providing the facility with a constant CP scan machine and the situation compels patients to seek the services from outside the hospital.

Meanwhile calls placed at the doorsteps of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Oheneba Owusu Danso to seek the rationale behind the procurement has proven futile.

But reacting tersely to the whole brouhaha, the Board Chairman of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Nana Effah -Apenteng expressed shock at the hue and cry insisting that the procurement of the cars was necessary looking at the busy schedule of the two officers. The Bompata Chief disclosed that the two cars were procured before the COVID-19 pandemic adding the staff should not misconstrue their decision as a misplaced priority and insensitive.
