The publication shows a list of countries that qualified for the HIPC initiative and received relief. The list is not based on a current assessment
You will find Rwanda on this list for example along with Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. Many of these countries have reached completion point long ago but continue to benefit from the HIPC debt relief that they obtained under the Multilateral Debt Relief Initiative.
HIPC was a specific program that countries had to opt for. It is a voluntary program. There is no program like HIPC today that countries can opt for. It is over!
