A/R: Willing Way Foundation Ghana Sensitizes Security Personnel on drug abuse.

The Willing Way Foundation Ghana, a Non – Governmental Organization (NGO) with the motive to offer treatment to drugs addicted has organised a day sensitization programme for a section security personnel in Ashanti Region on drug abuse.
The programme which aimed to equip the security personnel on how to handle drugs hooked related cases in the society was held at the conference hall of the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters in Kumasi.

Mrs. Lydia Abena Manu, the chief executive officer for the organization, in an address, opined the programme was to deepen the knowledge of the participants about the high rate of drug abuse, its effect on Ghanaian society and how they can join hands together to ensure effective public educate so as to reduce the menace.
She also admonished parents to take a very good care of their wards in order to protect and prevent from them bad company who can easily influence them to fall a victim, since the fight against drug abuse is a collective responsibility.

Mrs. Abena Manu, who was also a facilitator for the programme took the participants through the various topics including, the causes of drug abuse, effect and its solution as well in order to prevent the youth from taking hard drugs.
On her part, Mrs. Faustina Nuako, the Ashanti Regional Mental Health Coordinator also expressed worried about the recent unfortunate suicide cases which has showed it ugly face in the Ghana Police Service and called on other institutions to resource her outfit to intensifies public education in schools, churches and market places to avert these sad occurrences from the society.
Superintendent Justice Osei Mensah, the officer in-charge, Ashanti Regional Police Clinic who spoke on behaves of the participants said the topics treated have broadened their skills and knowledge on how to handle drug abuse related cases henceforth and thanked the organizers for such a educative programme.
