GES to introduce new school uniform for JHS students

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has introduced a new uniform for Junior High School (JHS) students.

The students will start wearing the new uniform from the next academic year.

Making the announcement at a press conference in Accra on Thursday, 11 April 2019, the Director-General of the GES, Prof Kwasi Opoku Amankwa said the new uniform will differentiate JHS students from basic school pupils.

The new uniforms, he noted, will come with a revised curriculum.

“We will phase out the current one. We will draw out the programme and give details on how and where to acquire it so that it does not become a burden on the parents,” he said.
