This will be the second time in a row the students are staying home due the strike action by Senior Staff Members

Patients at the Out Patient Department of the KNUST hospital, were stranded as some nurses and doctors who are part of the strike failed to report to work.

The Senior Staff Association are demanding that the government pay in full, tier 2 pension arrears spanning 2010 to 2016, interim market premiums and non-basic allowances.

The strike action was declared on Tuesday afternoon at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.

The Chairman of the Senior Staff Association at KNUST George Ansong maintained they have been compelled to take this action following the government’s failure to resolve their demands as recommended early this year by the National Labour Commission.

Meanwhile, the association on Monday June 7, 2021 sent its task force to monitoring all offices and departments on campuses to ensure that all staff of the association comply with the directive.
