Kumasi: 2 killed as Kia truck rams into traders at Dr Mensah

Two persons are reported dead with one other in critical condition following a gory accident at Dr Mensah in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region.
According to reports, the driver of a KIA Rhino truck with registration number AS 4403-12 which was fully loaded with ground nuts lost control and ran over traders who were on pavements at the area killing two traders instantly on Sunday February 27,2022 at about 1:30 pm
Some eyewitness in an interview with OTEC News Kwame Agyenim said another commercial Toyota Hiace car with registration number As-1568-12 loaded fully with passengers was also involved in the accident but fortunately none of the passengers on board were affected.
Two of the women who were run over by the truck have been disfigured beyond recognition while one other have sustained various degree of injuries.
Personnel of the Police Service rushed to the scene to control traffic
Meanwhile a Unit Committee member Krobo-Odumase (KO) Electoral Area Hon Joseph Mensah expressed worry over how some traders are working on pavements which goes contrary to the bylaws of the Kumasi Metropolis.
He urged city authorities to as a matter of urgency remove all traders from pavements to avoid such incident in future.
