Five incumbent NPP regional chairpersons retained, two lost

Five incumbent regional chairpersons of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) retained their seats as against two who lost when the party held regional elections in seven regions on Friday (27 May).

The elections were generally peaceful in the first seven regions which kicked off the three-day exercise. The elections were held in Ahafo, Bono East, Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East and Western North regions.

The chairman for Bono East and Western North regions failed to retain their seat.
